From the Archive: Now Is The Time

Carla Lampart   -

“Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth, while the evil days come not, nor the years draw nigh, when thou shalt say, I have no pleasure in them.”

Proverbs 12.1

It took Solomon many wasted years to realize that the true meaning of life comes only from fearing God and keeping His commandments. We can only accomplish this when we turn from our evil ways, revere, worship, and serve God. We must make ourselves available to God while we are still young, strong, healthy, and capable. Now is the time to seek after God with our whole heart and do the things that He has called us to do. We must not waste precious time on things that are of no eternal value, or sit around with our arms folded, looking at each other. There is much work to be done, right here in our Jerusalem. Many are lost and dying and we must lead them to safety. We have the answer and God has commanded us to go out and tell them, not at our convenience, but now. Solomon has proven that everything outside of God is vanity and the only thing that matters in this life is our relationship with God, and what we do for Him. Let’s not wait to discover that “we get old too soon and smart too late.”

Now is the time to do God’s work.
